Actor Fritz Wepper dies almost six months after his brother Elmar Wepper. Cancer, Covid-19 and most recently sepsis had severely weakened the Munich native.
Fritz Wepper has had a remarkable career. Born in Munich in 1941, his career began at a young age. His talent was quickly recognized and he received numerous offers for roles in film and television. He became internationally known in 1959 through the anti-war film “Die Brücke”. The younger generation knew him primarily because of his long-standing role as Harry Klein in the cult series “Derrick”. informs, Wepper fell ill with blood poisoning in December 2023, from which he never really recovered. After a five-week stay in the hospital, he had to be transferred to a hospice in Upper Bavaria at the beginning of March 2024, it is said.
