"Now that Francesco 'Sandokan'Schiavone has repented, we want to know the truth about my brother Salvatore, about the instigators of his murder. And I believe that Schiavones knows the truth". This was told to ANSA by Gennaro Nuvoletta, Salvatore's brother, the carabiniere killed in 1982 at just 20 years old by the Casalesi who wanted to take revenge for the death of one of their exponents, Mario Schiavone, Sandokan's cousin, killed during a firefight with the carabinieri one day moreover in which Salvatore Nuvoletta was not on duty.
During the deadly ambush, Nuvoletta also saved a child, Bruno D'Aria, from the shots fired by the assassins.
