Good news for the Italian documentary. Edoardo Morabito's outpost produced by DugongFilms with Rai Cinema will fly to Toronto to participate in the Hot Docs documentary festival scheduled from April 25th to May 5th. The film was selected in the prestigious 'The changing face of Europe' section which offers 9 documentaries every year chosen in collaboration with the European Film Promotion, deemed to be of exceptional interest in narrating contemporary themes and is the only Italian title in the programme.

Already presented as a special event at the Giornate degli Autoridi Venezia, L'Avamposto is currently on tour in cinemas, accompanied by director Edoardo Morabito, distributed by LuceCinecittà.

Hot Docs welcomes every year a selection of 200 cutting-edge titles and over 200,000 spectators, and a market of primary size. In addition to the screenings within the festival, the director and producers will be the protagonists of meetings with a network of North American buyers and festival selectors.

"In a country like ours, where documentaries for the cinema still struggle quite a bit both to be produced and to be seen - says director Edoardo Morabito - it gives me a lot of joy and also a lot of strength the fact that The Outpost, after being christened by the Giornate of the Authors in Venice, has now been entered into competition at Hot Docs, one of the most important festivals in the world for this type of film. I hope that this will bring visibility to the film outside of Italy, after the tour that took me from Palermo to Aosta in the last month. I thank Dugong, Rai Cinema and Luce Cinecittà for making the impossible possible. These important awards at an international level give me confirmation that this courageous adventure was worth it. And I hope they will help me make even more courageous films."
