Sandro Tonali wants to "put a definitive end to a negative and very painful period in his life and start again with strength at the end of the disqualification". This is the position of the Newcastle midfielder who was also referred by the English sporting justice system for illegal betting, as expressed in a note to ANSA from his agents. Tonali, underlines GRSports, the agency that looks after Tonali's interests among others, has reported himself to the Football Association and is collaborating with the FA as he has already done with the FIGC justice system.
After the news "that appeared in the English and Italian press", in the GrSports note, "it is specified that the ongoing investigation is a necessary action after the Newcastle player Sandro Tonali decided to self-report to the FA in October 2023, thus as previously done with the FIGC to clarify his position regarding the bets he placed in the period prior to the start of the proceedings in Italy".
The player, the note continues, "wants to put a definitive end to a negative and very painful parenthesis in his life and start again with strength at the end of the disqualification.
Sandro Tonali will therefore continue to collaborate fully with the FA as he did with the FIGC and to do everything everything possible to ensure that this process can be resolved as quickly as possible."
