All the hostages held captive by a person who attacked a café in the city of Ede, Holland, have been freed. The person responsible for the kidnapping, who was arrested, said he was in possession of explosive devices, threatening to blow himself up and the police had evacuated the area, underlining however that there was a sign of "terrorist motivation".
Three of the hostages were freed shortly after the assault, as was a fourth and final person. The bar in Ede where the hostage taking took place is called Petticoat and is located on Nieuwe Stationsstraat. It is a bar very popular with young people, where last night an event was held with Dutch and techno music, which went on until 4 in the morning. Special forces and bomb squad also intervened on site.
