After last night's last-minute refusal to go to the Colosseum for the ritual of the Via Crucis, the Holy See confirmed today the presence of the Pontiff at the Easter Vigil scheduled for this evening in the Vatican Basilica at 7.30 pm. According to what ANSA has learned, last night's last-minute resignation was due to a state of fatigue for the two hours of the Celebration of the Passion of the Lord in the Basilica, and above all to the desire not to expose oneself to the cold and humidity during the Via Crucis at the Colosseum. Furthermore, tomorrow the Pope is expected at 10.00 for the Easter Sunday mass in St. Peter's Square and at 12.00 for the Easter Message and the 'Urbi et Orbi' blessing from the central loggia of the Vatican Basilica.
