Highlights: Israeli fashion designer Dror Contento has launched a line of new shapers. The shaper is a device that takes at least 4cm off the circumference of the body. The designer has dressed over 6,000 brides and has a lot of experience in the field. "This is a baby I've been working on for over two years," Contento reveals to us in a dense and initial conversation. "I like revolutions," says Contento in an exclusive interview with CNN's Moti Reif.

The Israeli designer takes his first step in a foreign field, and goes straight into our lingerie drawer with a new shapewear line. Does this go against changing the perception of the ideal of beauty? And what scope did he reveal to us?

A whole century has passed since women didn't really breathe in corsets, we all remember that horrible scene in the Titanic where Rose is aggressively tying her corset in front of the mirror. Women have tried for years to get rid of "locked-in" bits, but it seems that times keep changing and what was good for the previous generation at one time or another is not relevant enough for the current time. The digital age, where everything is accessible, causes us to come across different figures of women on a daily basis. Among them if we want to pull out the most familiar example such as the members of the Kardashian family, who are depicted as having a thin waist and a seemingly "perfect" waistline for many.

Those who are wise enough to understand that not all that glitters is gold, know that under almost every precise look, there sits comfortably a single shaper that provides all the needs a woman can demand. The one who knew how to bring the news to the local arena, is

the fashion designer Dror Contento

, who dived deep into the depths of the underwear field and this morning launched a line of new shapers, with a first product with unique technologies. "This is a baby I've been working on for over two years," Contento reveals to us in

a dense and initial conversation

Where did the idea for the carver collection come from? What need have you identified in your brides or in general from women around you?

"As a fashion designer who has already dressed over 6,000 brides, I have a lot of experience with everything related to how to hold a woman's body and what is flattering - how do I actually get the best out of a woman's body. Especially when I specialize in plus sizes and plus sizes. I really know how to play with the body and make it stand out the more correct places and blur the places that everyone would actually like to blur. My dresses actually have an internal shaper, so it turned out that all the time the bride would say to me, 'I want to leave the dress with you and return it after the event, but make the shaper for me'. Then I would hear it over and over again and that's where the idea came from, I realized that there really is a very big lack in the market. Women are looking for a good shaper that will sit on them, that will be comfortable for them, that won't bother them during the evening and will still hold properly. I realized that this is an item that is needed in the market, and that it is difficult to find A good carver."

One of the advantages of the new item on the shelf is that anyone can put on their bra without the fear that it will change the shape of the chest area and can actually create the look they are comfortable with. And this is also true for the selection of shades - black and body. Includes a trick on the Nuoid model, which can also suit a browner, tanned or light skin color.

And what about measurements?

"Suitable for all sizes. A real shaper is not necessarily for slimming down or reducing the circumference. Of course we would be happy for that, but a good shaper is also measured when it gathers the body and smoothes it. I mean if a girl is standing without a shaper and wants to put on a dress and feels that it has folds on the side and she wants to Collect everything to get a more smooth and aesthetic look - that's what the shaper is for. And this is true for both the small and large sizes. My shaper is actually physically proven that if you put it on, it takes at least 4-5 cm off your circumference without blinking - which is something like A measure, if not more."

Contento's creative idea is a project that has been present in his mind for close to five to six years, one that he began to engage with, decipher and implement only in the last year and a half, until they actually reached the exact formula. During this period the final product was measured on over 400 women who passed by the designer in the studio. It has undergone many washings and changes in order to present a comfortable and productive item, which will save many of us many headaches.

Tell us about the work process and the materials from which the new collection is made

. It's a fabric that has fine-fine holes, which creates an opaque look, but not 100 percent opaque. It comes with extra strong and double silicone straps for the stomach area, so we'll get the perfect toning and the very soft, flexible and elastic look on the body. On the one hand, it's very Comfortable and on the other hand very 'inviting'. This is actually the biggest plus - the fabric and the texture of the fabric itself."

When a bride comes to the stages of selection and measurements, there is a lot of data that must be taken into account, which they are not necessarily always aware of - for reasons of excitement or pure experience. Would you recommend any bride entering the process of fitting a dress to add a shaper? How critical is it in the end?

"It really depends on where she's doing it. In the designs at my studio, in all the dresses, an inner shaper is planted that is actually attached to the dress itself, so that it never rolls and never behaves outside of the dress itself. But I would recommend every bride to have a shaper, also for all the accompanying events - for challah discharge And for the groom's seat and for the seven blessings and for the bachelorette party if she wants to wear a dress that is a little more fashionable and tight to the body. It is definitely an item that every girl needs in her closet. Whether she is a bride, an attendant, the bride's mother or her sister."

There is a tendency to think that bodybuilders are mainly intended for having a full body or large volumes. Put us in order, do you think the use of shapers has an effect on the appearance of women with a thin and less arched body?

"Of course there is an effect - I'll sort it out a moment, a big shaper is not only meant to slim down or reduce girth, it's also meant to gather the body. What does it mean to gather? There are girls who are size small or even extra small because they've lost weight and there's some excess skin, Either because they are no longer girls and want to get to the point where the body is as tall as it used to be, or simply feel the need for a little more waist. It is possible to get to the point where you take the existing body, even when it is narrow and underweight, and simply firm it up and make it more uniform and sculpted under the dress. So there is no learning connection".

Don't you think that going out in such a line is a bit against the contemporary concepts - that women are supposed to feel good about who they are? In direct continuation of the popular discourse about the "beauty ideal"

"Who like me sanctifies the woman's body, who like me publishes plus size catalogs from the first year I'm actually a fashion designer, so I think it's exactly the opposite. Not only does it not contradict, it's even empowering. Because a girl who wants to feel more collected and at peace with herself, or in my language even more "cupsy" - if the shaper under the dress gives her that feeling then of course she'll wear it. It's very much a matter of how we want to look and what's right for us and what's not. Women have always wanted To look better or at least at your best, and if the sculpter gives you the feeling that you look your best - here's what's good, go for it and do what's right for you. There's no question here of contradicting perceptions or ideals, I think that anything that's good for a woman is actually empowerment."

In general, the interest in chopsticks is much more relevant to the American audience who use them on a daily basis, and not just for events. Do you think this is something that could catch on in the local scene? Or will it remain only as an auxiliary piece for gendered exits? What are your recommendations as a professional?

"It's not just American women who are sick of shapers, it's a daily thing in our country as well, at least from what I come across every second woman I meet has one under her clothes. And right here is the time to change this term 'shaper' a bit from something very scary, stressful You can move it and something with aggressive bindings. A shaper shouldn't suffer in it, it shouldn't really give us an unpleasant or inaccessible feeling. As soon as you touch the shaper, you'll say that it can fit into everyday life and still be worn under a t-shirt and jeans and will do the job comfortably This is exactly the intention of my new product, to change the perception of 'shaper'."

It takes a lot of courage to implement a new project of this magnitude in this sensitive period. Did the desire to create alongside the current situation in the country rise, or rather "suppress" this part of you?

"It really takes a lot of courage to release a project of this magnitude at such a time, it's true. Call me brave, call me stupid, call me a dreamer, imagination or a fantasist - whatever you want. But I actually think that because of this whole situation and because there was depression every For so long, both mentally, physically, politically and security-wise, I do think that we need to show that we know how to do and produce and continue and be happy - these are the things we are best at. In the hope that we will reach the days when we will only wear khakis during joys, events and fun things."

What is your next project, what is the next passion that tickles your fancy?

"I'm always dreaming, I have a lot of projects in the pipeline. This coming May I'm going to do something super big in the USA. Something I've wanted to do for a long time, and it's part of a series of events and projects that I'm heading towards and actually going to set foot in the US. Apart from that, after the launch of the collection in Israel, there is a clear intention to go abroad. When it comes you will know."
