Is love a science? In “Married at First Sight”, a new number of which is offered this Monday evening on M 6 (at 9:10 p.m.), the formation of the couples appearing before the Mayor owes nothing to chance. Before filming, production ensures that the future spouses have a high “compatibility rate”. Supposed to maximize the chances of success of future couples, its calculation requires specific work on which the Six agrees to lift (a little) the veil.
This begins several months before the start of filming. Of the more than 20,000 applications received each season, a first casting phase allows us to keep “only” a few hundred. The lucky ones are then invited to participate in a first one-day workshop. Confined in hotel rooms without ever meeting, men and women then undertake a series of tests. “We scan them from A to Z,” summarizes Karen Aboab, the show’s producer.
