Heavy snowfall at high altitude in the Venetian Dolomites

 The wave of bad weather yesterday evening and last night which also affected the mountains of Veneto, brought further snowfall to the high altitude locations in the Dolomites, above 1800-1900 metres. However, it rained in the Belluno and Veronese Prealps, as well as on the Asiago Plateau, where however the snowfall remained consistent. On Monte Baldo (Verona) 145 centimeters were recorded, while in the Seven Municipalities the record belongs to Cima XII with almost one and a half metres.

Orange alert in Lombardy

The Civil Protection has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions which foresees the persistence of scattered to widespread precipitation, including downpours or thunderstorms, from today's morning, Sunday 31 March, in Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont and Lombardy, extending to Liguria and in the afternoon Veneto.

"These phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, possible hailstorms and strong gusts of wind", warns the Civil Protection.
