A new closure for the provincial road 25 in Sesta Godano, which connects Liguria and Tuscany crossing the Alta Val di Vara. Since this morning, a movement of the slope above the road has led to debris occupying part of the roadway, making it necessary to block traffic in the Orneto area.
"The situation along our provincial roads presents some obvious critical issues which the weather conditions accentuate - explains President Pierluigi Peracchini -. In recent days we have activated all possible resources to provide local responses. Even in these hours our staff, in coordination with the Municipalities, is in service and in the case of SestaGodano a resolution plan is already being planned." The road has been affected by continuous closures during significant weather events since at least 2018. In recent days the Province of La Spezia has reported over thirty interventions due to falling stones and soil, cutting of branches and unsafe trees, and emptying of ditches in the inland roads.
