In season 2 of the legal series in which they play half-sisters - one a psycho-rigid investigating judge and the other a police officer.

Their pair had worked wonders in season 1, bringing together an average of 3.68 million viewers for six weeks in spring 2022. Here it is again… Justine Rameau, a slightly psychorigid investigating judge, and Vanessa Tancelin, a free spirit of the judicial police of Strasbourg, “colleagues in spite of themselves, sisters in spite of everything” have learned to know and appreciate each other (a little).

From this Tuesday, at 9:10 p.m., France 3 is broadcasting a new round of ten episodes of the legal comedy “Face to face”, just as tender and refreshing as the previous ones. The icing on the cake, when the end credits sound, it is no longer Cœur de Pirate who performs “Femme Like U”, by K.Maro, as in the previous season, but Claire Borotra and Constance Gay. As a declaration to viewers: “Give me your heart, baby”. It all starts with a joke, a “if you don’t have the rights, if you want, I’ll sing it to you”, thrown with humor by the second to the producers. And why not ? The complicity of the two actresses carries the fiction, bringing them together behind a microphone would be a great way to end each adventure.

“We had to find the right tone”

“When Sidonie Cohen of Lara (co-producer with Sébastien Charbit) suggested it to me, I won't hide from you that it gave me some insomnia,” smiles Claire Borotra, who found her character with pleasure. In the new episodes, thinking of doing the right thing, Justine invites her half-sister's mother under their roof. “Except that this woman, played by Marianne James, is Vanessa to the power of a thousand… So potentially explosive. » With this voice specialist on the team, music is obvious.

When we ask Stéphanie Tchou-Cotta, screenwriter who was behind the camera for the first time, about her fondest filming memory, she immediately talks about a karaoke “where the team sang

Connemara

at 3 a.m.”. Because here, we like to party. Evenings like this are legion. “What’s fun is trying songs that are impossible to sing,” laughs Constance Gay. God knows I love Georges Brassens, but if we try

All by myself

, it's more technical. We laugh a lot more. » “The neighbors are less fans than us,” jokes Claire Borotra. We all end up screaming Celine Dion into a microphone. »

At the end of filming, the two heroines found themselves in a Parisian recording studio. “We had to find the right tone, because Claire and I don’t have the same vocal range,” says Constance Gay. We sang a verse and a chorus each. » No question of recording an album together, but the possibility of extending their friendship and their passion for French song. Moreover, in season 3, which they have just finished filming, “there will be a big karaoke sequence”, promises Claire Borotra.
