The Hamas Health Ministry has announced the deaths of four foreign aid workers and their Palestinian driver following an Israeli attack on their vehicle in the central Gaza Strip.
According to the ministry, five "martyrs" arrived at a hospital in Deir el Balah, after "an Israeli air attack against a vehicle of the American organization World Central Kitchen".
The victims "have British, Australian and Polish nationality and the fourth nationality is not known", the source said in another statement, specifying that the fifth person was a Palestinian driver and translator.
The Israeli army said it was "examining the tragic incident at the highest level to understand the circumstances" and stressed that it was "working closely with the WCK" to distribute aid to the people of Gaza.
