Not many video-on-demand apps can currently be used on the Nintendo Switch, but a popular streaming service is now available.
Streaming apps are very limited on the Nintendo Switch. In addition to gaming, the console is ideal for watching videos. At least Switch users were able to console themselves with YouTube, but there is still no trace of Netflix*, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+. Another popular streaming service is now available on Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch: Anime streaming service Crunchyroll now available
The anime fans among Nintendo Switch owners have reason to be happy. The
Crunchyroll
streaming service is now available as an app on the console. It's not the first anime streaming app on the Nintendo Switch - that honor goes to Funimation - but Crunchyroll complements the current offering perfectly, so fans of the animated series get their money's worth. Some of the most popular anime on the platform include “
One Piece
,” “
Attack
on Titan
,” “
Demon
Slayer
,” “
Boruto
,” “
Naruto
,” “
JoJo
's
Bizarre
Adventure
,” and many, many more.

For the first time, it will also be possible to watch
the content of a streaming platform
offline
on the Nintendo Switch
- provided users have the appropriate subscription. However, like YouTube, Crunchyroll can also be used for free with advertising. Otherwise, the following tariffs are available:
Fan subscription
: 6.99 euros for 1 month – without offline viewing
Mega fan subscription
: 9.99 euros for 1 month
Mega Fan annual subscription
: 99.99 euros for 12 months

What about Netflix, Amazon Prime & Co. for Nintendo Switch?
One might assume that sooner or later Nintendo will make more streaming services available on the Switch. But Crunchyroll was bought by Funimation Global Group last year. For this reason, it is understandable that both streaming portals can be used on Nintendo Switch. It is therefore impossible to say whether Nintendo is generally more willing to offer other video on demand services such as
Netflix or Amazon Prime Video
on the console.
