Short but incandescent week for the executive. After the Easter truce, the majority and the opposition are preparing for the battle in Parliament. To the sound of motions of no confidence and challenges in the commission. The spotlight is on the Chamber of Deputies, where between Wednesday and Thursday the governing coalition will be called upon to defend two ministers from the vote of no confidence.

The chances that Daniela Santanchè and Matteo Salvini could be hit by friendly fire from the center-right are more than remote.

However, the questions posed by the opposition in the two separate motions of no confidence, on the one hand the investigations into the economic activity of the Minister of Tourism and, on the other, the relations between the League and the United Russia party, remain considerable headaches for the government.

The Democratic Party, with an 'April Fool' joke on social media in which it announces Santanché's resignation, keeps the pressure high: "we are not giving up, every additional day as minister is an offense to the country's institutions". But Fratelli d'Italia is closing ranks in view of the vote in the Chamber. The tom-tam of messages has already started to ensure a massive presence of FdI deputies in the hemicycle of Palazzo Montecitorio. The objective is to avoid errors or surprises, raising a solid shield in defense of the Minister of Tourism. If the motion of no confidence were rejected, the vote would end up locking it away from the ministry, at least for now.

While the wait is growing for the GUP's decision regarding the first line of investigations into the Visibilia case, in which the minister is under investigation for aggravated fraud against the INPS.

Santanché herself, in the case of indictment, said she was ready for further evaluations on the entire matter. And there are also rumors about the imminent closure of the second tranche of the investigation into the group founded by the minister. Which could cast a new wave of embarrassment on the executive.

At Palazzo Montecitorio, however, the one on Santanché is not the only test for the government. The Chamber will also be called to vote on the motion of no confidence in Deputy Prime Minister Salvini, presented by Azione and signed by the leaders of Pd, M5s and Avs. What worries the majority is not so much the vote as the debate that will precede it, which will be entirely centered on the opposition on the relationship between the League and United Russia. Carlo Calenda continues to ask Salvini to demonstrate the breakdown of the agreement with the Russian party, offering him the withdrawal of the motion in exchange. But the Minister of Transport does not intervene on the issue and has not yet resolved his reservations about his presence in the Chamber for the discussion. All eyes will still be on the League deputies, but not only. There is also expectation for the positions of Fdi and Fi, with particular attention paid to possible frictions between government allies on foreign policy.

Alliances and international positioning are not the only factor of tension between the Brothers of Italy and the League. Who continue to compete in Parliament for their respective flags - Premiership and Autonomy - with the hope of being able to wave them already in the electoral campaign for the European elections. On Tuesday, in the First Commission of the Senate, article 3 of the reform on the Premiership will be voted on, which would open up the direct election of the Prime Minister. While the Commission will be working on the reform, on Wednesday, with a press conference supported by FdI, the "Coordination of civic committees for the premiership" will be born. The intent, explain the organizers of the committees, is to take the debate out of the buildings. In the meantime, differentiated autonomy is traveling on a track parallel to the Chamber. And this week the regional presidents, including Luca Zaia, will be heard at the hearing. The arrival in the Chamber is scheduled for April 29th and the League would aim for an initial approval within the European elections. But there is still no certainty about the timing of the process. Meanwhile, the opposition is preparing to challenge the majority in the Commission on two distinct issues. At Palazzo Madama, the Democratic Party with the bill on the end of life. In the Chamber, the M5s, supported by the dem and Avs, on the short week.
