According to what was reported by state TV TRT, the fire broke out in an apartment building in Gayrettepe, a neighborhood on the European side of Istanbul and the flames would have affected two basement floors of a residential building in the city. The Minister of the Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, said that an investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the fire.
