In an interview with the Bavarian Consumer Center, Ippen.Media spoke about the types of farming on meat packaging. Do the labels actually provide information about animal welfare or is it all marketing in the end?

In an interview about the labeling of meat packaging, the Bavarian Consumer Center criticized the transparency and comprehensibility of animal husbandry practices. Ms. Schwengel-Exner pointed out that the current labeling only indicates the conditions in which the animals are kept, but does not provide any information about their well-being. In particular, she criticized the term "outside climate", which according to the law is already fulfilled when one side of the stable is open, but this does not meet consumers' expectations.

She also emphasized that the labeling only concerns the farming conditions and does not provide any information about the slaughter or transport of the animals. Ms. Schwengel-Exner recommended consumers look for higher levels of labeling, such as Level 3 or 4, which offer more stringent standards.
