The Frenchman Paul Lapeira (Decathlon-AG2R La Difesa) won the second stage of the Tour of the Basque Country in the sprint, in Cambo les Bains (France), while the Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Bora-Hansgrohe) remains leader of the standings after his victory in the inaugural time trial in Yesterday. The French rider took advantage of the great work of his teammate Bruno Armirail to impose himself in the very long sprint and win his first victory on the WorldTour circuit, at the age of 23.
Behind Lapeira was the Italian SamueleBattistella, who managed to precede the Belgian Louis Vervaek and the Spaniard Pau Miquel Delgado.
