An air steward is causing an uproar online after revealing some of the most disturbing things he's seen in his 25-year career, including sex between pilots, flight attendants and passengers, riots that turned violent and passengers leaving their seats dirty with feces. He shared his crazy experiences in the post "Ask me anything" that appeared on Reddit. He wrote in the post: "I am a flight attendant at a large US airline, where I have been working for 25 years. Talk to me...". The flight attendant did not reveal his name or the name of the airline he works for, but stated that he mainly works on domestic morning flights that require him to be at the airport at 5 or 6 in the morning and stay until 5:00 pm.
Among other things, the flight attendant mentioned the benefits that come with the job such as affordable health insurance, discounted flight prices, visits to different cities as part of the job and diversity - which is an important thing in any job. He also noted the downsides of the profession, such as being away from home for 3 days at a time, not getting paid for some of the daily tasks and having to deal with "mean passengers".
Yes, there are quite a few "evil passengers" according to him. He said that every week he catches people trying to smoke in the small toilet even though they were specifically told not to. He also catches passengers who try to join the "Mile High Club" (sometimes translated into Hebrew as "the high mile club"), which includes anyone who has experienced sexual relations of one kind or another inside the plane while it is high in the air.

You'll be surprised to hear (or not) that it's not just passengers who like to enjoy casual sex at 30,000 feet. When the flight attendant was asked if he had ever done it with a passenger or co-worker during or after work, he replied: "A passenger, yes. Another crew member...I've been offered but no." According to him, co-workers who also sleep isn't something that happens "as often as the rumors claim," but "what does happen a lot is straight married pilots sleeping with gay flight attendants."
However
, he says that some of the worst things he's observed are passengers who "do Pooping or peeing" in their seats. This shouldn't surprise you: Earlier this year, a passenger was reported to have defecated in his pants on a Delta flight that departed on Christmas Eve - leaving feces smeared all over the seat. In direct continuation, the steward said he also saw "used condoms, contaminated underwear (women and men), used tampons... and that's just a small part."
He also encountered passengers who tried to spit on him and hit him. "People think boarding a plane is their right, that they deserve everything and they don't take what we say seriously," the flight attendant wrote, "The whole mindset of the customers has changed our work."

Flight attendants share their horror stories:
It's not just the passengers who make the flight difficult at times. He recalled an incident where the plane passed through a section of air turbulence that was so rough that he flew and hit his head on the door handle.
Unfortunately, the flight attendants' wages are not high enough to handle the cuts - at least initially. "It depends on the airline, but usually the starting salary is around $24 per flight hour," the flight attendant revealed, "this does not include a daily allowance. Some pay more if the flights are full or almost full, in which position you fly, etc." However, he says that the salary increases over the years: "The highest payment is after about 15 years in the job and then it is about 75 dollars per flight hour."
As for his best and worst encounters with stars boarding flights, the flight attendant claimed: "My best encounter was with
Gene Simmons
from KISS. The worst was with
Julia Roberts
(and that was three weeks ago). She's not nice at all ".
Despite all the unpleasant incidents, the steward encourages people of all ages to work as stewards. "We have people in their late 50s and 60s who get hired," he said, "there are also many advantages to the profession. I recommend going for it."
