The independent commission on incest (Ciivise) will be relaunched with a “directing college” at its head and an objective of training professionals to offer a health pathway to victims, announced this Wednesday the Minister Delegate in charge of Children, of Youth and Families Sarah El Haïry in a press release.
This quartet will be composed of Maryse Le Men Régnier, ex-magistrate and president of the France Victimes Federation, Thierry Baubet, head of the child psychopathology department at the Avicenne hospital in Bobigny, Solène Podevin, president of Face à l' incest, and Bruno Questel, former deputy and mayor, himself a victim of rape as a child, she specifies in an interview with Le Figaro.
A “new era” for Ciivise
In this same interview, she specifies that a “new era” is opening for Ciivise” and that the work of the commission will continue “despite the turbulence” of the past. The delegate minister refers to the successive departures of judge Édouard Durand and Sébastien Boueilh, who resigned following the withdrawal of his vice-president, targeted by a complaint for sexual assault.
“Sexual violence against minors affects one in ten people, it is not the business of a few, but the business of all of us”, underlines the Minister responsible for Children, Youth and Families in his press release.
“Today I am establishing renewed governance, responsible for two missions, beyond welcoming the words of victims which will be continued and amplified,” she adds. “First, make all places where children live safe places. Next, build a strong chain of protection of all children by all adults. »

La Ciivise was launched in March 2021, in the wake of the publication of Camille Kouchner's book, “La Familia grande”, which denounces the incest committed on her brother by the political scientist Olivier Duhamel. For almost three years, she revealed the mechanisms of incest, its destructive lifelong effects on victims and its cost for society, work praised by many actors. It collected nearly 30,000 testimonies and issued 82 recommendations.
