  • 1.5 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 1 tsp marjoram

  • 2 tsp sweet paprika powder

  • 80g onions, diced

  • 1 egg 

  • 50g breadcrumbs

  • 1.2 kg pepper mix

Tomato sauce:

  • 3 tbsp cooking oil

  • 100g onions, diced

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste 

  • 400 g peeled tomatoes (canned)

  • 400 g diced tomatoes (canned)

  • 0.5 tsp salt

  • 0.5 tsp pepper

  • 1 tsp marjoram

Aside from that:

  • Parsley, freshly chopped

  • Rice, as a side dish

By the way, not only peppers are suitable for stuffing with minced meat, but also Hokkaido pumpkin, which is refined with feta, kohlrabi in white wine cream sauce and a cauliflower bomb with cheese sauce.

Preparation is easy thanks to these step-by-step instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C fan oven.

  • For the stuffed peppers:

    Knead the minced meat with salt, pepper, marjoram and paprika powder in a bowl. Add the onion cubes, egg and breadcrumbs to the minced meat and mix everything well.

  • Wash the peppers, cut off the top and remove the core. Fill the peppers with the minced meat mixture and close the lid.

  • For the tomato sauce:

    Heat the oil in a roasting pan and fry the onion cubes until translucent. Add tomato paste and roast briefly. Deglaze with the peeled tomatoes and the diced tomatoes and season with salt, pepper and marjoram. Bring to the boil and simmer for five minutes.

  • Place the stuffed peppers in the sauce and cook, covered, in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes.

  • Serve the stuffed peppers garnished with parsley. Rice goes well with it.
