At 95 years old, the former president of the National Front (FN) - now National Rally - Jean-Marie Le Pen was placed in February "under legal protection", the vice-president of the party Louis Aliot announced this Wednesday on RMC-BFM. This civil arrangement, close to guardianship, allows his three daughters – Marine Le Pen and her two sisters Marie-Caroline and Yann – to represent their father.
According to several of those close to him, Jean-Marie Le Pen's health - particularly his memory - has largely declined since a heart attack in April 2023. Questioned about Jean-Marie Le Pen's ability to attend the trial suspecting the RN of embezzlement of European funds - in which the "Menhir" is involved - Louis Aliot also estimated that his eldest will not be able to go there.

. An “attempt to take action” was foiled during the Easter weekend, announced Prisca Thévenot, government spokesperson, after the Council of Ministers this Wednesday.
