The White House has announced that the United States is "ready" to help Taiwan, hit by a strong earthquake with a magnitude greater than 7 which caused at least 9 deaths and 900 injuries.
"The United States stands ready to provide all necessary assistance," Adrienne Watson, spokeswoman for the National Security Council, said in a statement, specifying that the American executive is "monitoring" the consequences of the earthquake in Taiwan "and its potential impact on Japan ".
