Donatella Di Cesare, philosopher and professor of theoretical philosophy at La Sapienza in Rome, announces that she has been sent to trial following a defamation complaint filed by the Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida. The court hearing in Rome is scheduled for May 15.

I added: 'I believe that the minister's words cannot be taken for a slip , because he spoke as a Gauleiter, as a neo-Hitler governor.' This opinion of mine was based on my years of studies on this topic."

Above all, the abuse of complaints to silence the voices of intellectual dissent is worrying. The exponents of a democratic government should be open to discussion and respond with words and means of public discussion to even harsh political criticism. On the contrary, here complaints arrive like truncheons. However, I am not intimidated. I have faith in the judiciary and I will defend myself in court".
