Services are growing, in Italy the PMI index rises to 54.6 in March - PMI

Highlights: The Italian tertiary sector recorded its third consecutive monthly expansion in March, thanks to the rapid increase in orders. The Hcob PMI services index rose last month to 54.6 from 52.2 in February. This is precisely the third consecutive month in which the sector is positioned above the threshold of 50.0, signaling a new positive trend in tertiary activity. The French tertiarysector contracts slightly, going to 48.3 from 48.4 in February, above the forecast of 47.8.

The Italian tertiary sector recorded its third consecutive monthly expansion in March, thanks to the rapid increase in orders, the fastest since August 2021.

The Hcob PMI services index rose last month to 54.6 from 52.2 in February. This is precisely the third consecutive month in which the sector is positioned above the threshold of 50.0, signaling a new positive trend in tertiary activity, and the fifth consecutive month of increase, showing in March the strongest increase in almost a year. 

The French tertiary sector contracts slightly. In March the Hcob services PMI index, developed by S&P Global, fell slightly, going to 48.3 from 48.4 in February. The figure is above the forecast of 47.8. The composite index rises to 48.3 from the previous 48.1. Estimates indicated 47.7. 

 Confidence continues to grow in the German service sector. In March the Hcob services PMI index, developed by S&P Global, rose to 50.1 from 48.3 in February. The figure is above estimates of 49.8. The composite index rose to 47.7 from 46.3 the previous month. Also in this case the figure is above the forecast of 47.4. 

The eurozone economy returns to growth for the first time since May 2023. The Hcob PMI index of tertiary activity, developed by S&PGlobal, rises to 51.5 from 50.2 in February and is the highest value in 9 months . The figure is above estimates of 51.1. The composite rises to 50.3 from 49.2 in February. This is the highest value in 10 months. Also in this case the figure is above the forecast of 49.9.
