Marta Rossetti is the new Italian special slalom champion. The twenty-five year old from Brescia of the Fiamme Oro had finished the first run in fourth place, but the second partial time of the decisive heat allowed her to achieve success with an overall time of 1'29"57 and a margin of 0"10 over the thirty-year-old Martina Peterlini who was in the lead at mid-race.
For both, this is the first medal at the overall Italian championships. Behind them, on the snows of Val Senales, the Piedmontese Emilia Mondinelli confirmed her place on the Italian podium, third at 0"34 from Rossetti and outgoing champion after last season's success. Federica Brignone, however, came out in the second heat, second after the first heat.
