Highlights: The competition for the best junior pastry chef is underway. Starting from Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th April, the National Hotel Institute Pastry Championship in Vittorio Veneto (Treviso) 60 young talents competing from 30 schools across Italy. The challenge, organized by the International Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate Federation (Fipgc) and the "A. Beltrame" Professional Institute for Hotel and Catering Services, is promoted by the Ministry of Education and Merit.

Starting from Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th April, the National Hotel Institute Pastry Championship in Vittorio Veneto (Treviso). The competition for the title of Best Junior Pastry Chef sees 60 young talents competing from 30 schools across Italy. The challenge, organized by the International Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate Federation (Fipgc) and the "A. Beltrame" Professional Institute for Hotel and Catering Services, is promoted by the Ministry of Education and Merit. The Championship has reached its sixth edition.

The competition foresees that the students, organized in teams of two, will have to face, in three hours available, tests between ovens and stoves, creating single portions based on Dop Honey from the Dolomites (ingredient of the host land) and presenting the dessert in packaging designed and created specifically for the occasion that highlights sustainability and the commercial future. In addition to the packaging, the competitors will create a brochure presenting the dessert and its peculiarities, the choice of raw materials and the link with the territory.

The jury will examine "the ability to develop a complex recipe and the related artistic composition in complete autonomy, from the phase of choosing the ingredients and developing the work plan up to the final presentation".

The winning Institute will win the National Student Championship Trophy and "the honor of organizing and managing the 2025 National Hotel Institute Championship". The first three classified will be awarded respectively the gold, silver and bronze medal and the title of Best Junior Pastry Chef". During the three days there will be training courses for the competitors not competing.
