denounces this in a note.
Inside the park that bears the journalist's name, the statue was covered in purple paint with handprints above the plaque on the base. "The do-goodism of the left towards eco-vandals - added Piscina - has as a consequence these continuous acts of vandalism throughout the city. Milan deserves respect and those who deface it should pay dearly and not be pampered. Instead, on several occasions the bronze statue is been cleaned up at the expense of the Milanese through continually increasing taxes and tariffs thanks to the same left that governs the city".
"We ask Mayor Sala once again to put an end to his silence in the face of these continuous abuses. Milan deserves a Mayor who does not let this type of action go unpunished", finally concluded the provincial secretary.
Already in 2020 the statue had been vandalized with red paint and phrases written in black covering the entire plaque with Montanelli's name.
