Fine, discreet, Nathalie Du Pasquier is the first winner of the BNP Paribas Private Banking prize. Endowed with 30,000 euros, this new prize created in collaboration with Art Paris rewards one of the artists in the thematic focus
“Fragile utopias. A look at the French scene”
imagined by the art historian Éric de Chassey (
Le Figaro
is part of the jury). Born in Bordeaux in 1957, Nathalie Du Pasquier lives and works in Milan. She is one of the rare women of the Memphis group, of which she is also one of the founding members. As such, she has multiplied the supports, textiles, carpets, laminated plastics, furniture, objects. She fascinates Toulon with her drawings and her “Arrangements 1993-2023”, until April 27 at the Hôtel des arts TPM. Since 1987, she has focused on painting which transforms sculpture into a flat, geometric surface and which Yvon Lambert, a legendary gallery owner who has shared her laurels, exhibits.
