Stefano Gross from Trentino confirmed himself as the absolute Italian special slalom champion. The thirty-seven year old athlete from Fassa of the Fiamme Gialle won the test of the Italian absolute championships underway in Val Senales.
For him it is the fourth personal title after those of 2013, 2021 and 2023.
Already in the lead halfway through the race, the Trentino rider stopped the clock at 1'51"27, maintaining a margin of 17 hundredths of a second over the South Tyrolean Tobias Kastlunger (Fiamme Gialle) who was following him. The decisive descent instead allowed the other South Tyrolean Matteo Canins (Fiamme Gialle) to gain a position and thus climb onto the third step of the podium with a delay of 0"86 from Gross.
Tomorrow the Italian championships end with the men's giant slalom.
