The Spanish league manages the calendar well enough to rest the teams involved in the Champions League quarter-finals next week. In fact, the final of the Copa del Rey will be played on Sunday, with two outsiders, Athletic Bilbao and Majorca, playing in Seville tomorrow at 10pm.
The big ones have already been swept away. Real Madrid was eliminated in the round of 16 by Atletico Madrid. Athletic Bilbao beat Barcelona in the quarter-finals and Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals. The other protagonist of the season, Girona, exited in the quarterfinals with Majorca.
The prediction sees Valverde's Basques as favourites, as they have assembled a competitive team (the goalscorer is Inaki Williams) who still hope to enter the Champions League given that they are -2 behind Simeone's Atletico in fourth place. For Aguire's Majorca it is an opportunity not to be missed to enter Europe: he is ninth in La Liga, +6 from the safety zone.
King's Cup final: Athletic Bilbao-Majorca tomorrow at 10pm.
