"This second edition of the Strega Poetry Prize also saw enthusiastic participation from that reckless flotilla, always fighting against the waves of survival, which is the publishing of Italian poetry" said Andrea Cortellessa on behalf of the scientific committee composed of Maria Grazia Calandrone, Andrea Cortellessa, Mario Desiati, Elisa Donzelli, Roberto Galaverni, Vivian Lamarque, Valerio Magrelli, Melania G. Mazzucco, StefanoPetrocchi, Laura Pugno, Antonio Riccardi and Gian Mario Villalta" 134 works were reported by the publishers, one each, to which the Scientific Committee of the Prize wanted to add another 10. The selection of the dozen, in the extreme heterogeneity of the proposals, shows us once again the dazzling, but always vital, richness and variety of contemporary Italian poetry" underlined Cortellessa.

A large jury made up of cultural personalities will determine the winning work. The prize will be awarded on Wednesday 9 October, in Rome, at the Temple of Venus and Rome inside the Colosseum archaeological park.
