and shared by @3cats_2moms, the tuxedo cat Jeeve caused a stir. The short clip shows the four-legged friend in an unusual position - namely inside a dishwasher. reports . Despite the machine being full of dishes, the house cat seemed to have gotten into the compartment effortlessly, with only his tail still sticking out.

The video, which you can watch here, was captioned “Just Jeeve things.” When the owner noticed Jeeve hiding in the machine, she slowly pulled out the top shelf, revealing the curious tuxedo cat.

The term “tuxedo” comes from English and means tuxedo – a black jacket, traditionally combined with a white shirt and black trousers. The coat pattern of Tuxedo cats is similar to this black suit for men, with the back, flanks, head, tail and legs being mostly black, often with small flecks of white. The distinctive impression of a white shirt is enhanced by the white bib and belly, while a “perfectly dressed” Tuxedo cat also has white paws.

TikTok users are enthusiastic, but also urge caution

Dishwasher and Tuxedo Cat Jeeve's video is quickly going viral, receiving over 1.9 million views, over 52,000 likes and over 500 comments so far. Some viewers found the scene humorous and commented, "Oh he's helping with the dishes!" That’s so nice of him.” But despite the amusing nature of the video, it's important to point out that some cats are too fond of crawling into caves. As a cat owner, you should therefore be careful and ideally also check washing machines before you start them - not that your cat has found a comfortable hiding place to sleep there. Below is a small selection of further comments on the clip.

  • “He wanted to help empty the dishwasher. 😻”

  • “This is so dangerous! How did he get in there?”

  • “Inspection completed, the person can load the dishwasher. 😂”

  • “Cat laundry. 😂”
