Medical deserts, overwhelmed emergency rooms… The crisis in the health system is deepening, and citizens are directly paying the consequences. Gabriel Attal received this Saturday in Matignon several newspapers from the regional press, including Le Parisien-Aujourd'hui en France, to explain how he intended to facilitate French people's access to care and to provide clarifications to his general policy declaration of 30 January.
The most obvious solution is to have more practitioners. From 8,150 in 2017, the number of places in medicine at university rose to 10,000 in 2023, it will increase to 12,000 per year in 2025 then 16,000 per year in 2027. “We will train up to double the number of doctors that we trained each year when the President of the Republic was elected,” compares the Prime Minister.
