The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella visited the Don Bosco Salesian training center in Ashaiman near the Ghanaian capital Accra.
Accompanied by his daughter Laura and Deputy Foreign Minister Edmondo Cirielli, the head of state observed the laboratories and training areas of a project that allows approximately 250 legal entries a year in Italy.
"I had my heart set on visiting this centre, for the model it represents and for the formula, which can also constitute a model for other realities. I visited some departments, being able to concretely see the activity that takes place and the great expertise that these guys have, thanks to training", said the President of the Republic while visiting a Don Bosco center in Ghana, which trains local staff in a legal immigration project within the framework of the Cutro decree. "I saw that the Salesian spirit can be felt here. I also thank the Confindustria of the North East which has found this model to be highly effective, with young people who can choose whether to come to work in Italy or return here after training.
It is a happy formula and it is important that the president of Confindustria Orsini has included this formula in his national program so that it is repeated in other areas. All this is part of the context of collaboration and friendship between Ghana and Italy", underlined the Head of State. "Yesterday - added Mattarella - we registered full harmony with the Ghanaian president, this is the spirit of our collaboration to grow together in effective manner. Here you can breathe the spirit of this collaboration between Ghana and Italy, with the awareness that the future is common and is entrusted to young people. We therefore have the responsibility for their training. This formula goes in this direction and is an exemplary model that I hope will be repeated in other realities.
