The head of the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Martin Griffiths, said that the six-month war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza represents "a betrayal of humanity". According to the UN official, despite "global outrage", "so little has been done to put an end to it, leaving room for such great impunity". In a statement on the eve of the war's six months, Griffiths called for "collective determination to come to terms with this betrayal of humanity".
