But have you ever paid attention to whether the price is above or below a product? A discussion broke out on TikTok about exactly this topic.
Discussions about Lidl price tags on TikTok: branch manager has a clear opinion
The trigger for the strange discourse is a video from a Lidl branch manager. Because if you ask him, there is no discussion on the topic: “At Lidl, the price tags are not at the bottom, but at the top. That’s how it should be,” he explains. However, his opinion on the topic is probably not entirely objective. An employee at the branch sees it similarly: “That doesn’t make any sense, why should it be underneath?” But things seem to be completely different with the competition. So the branch manager sets his sights on Aldi. There the signs would be placed below the products.
Some Lidl customers seem to have already gotten used to the Lidl price tag system. A customer writes in the comments: “Upstairs! Every time I go somewhere other than Lidl, I look at the wrong sign." She's not the only one, as another TikTok user also apparently finds the price tags above the products more practical: "Why does everyone downstairs think it's better? Upstairs is much better!”

However, the two users are not in the majority with this opinion, because many of the people who express their opinions in the comment section have a negative attitude towards price tags above the product range. One person writes: “That’s exactly the reason why I don’t go to Lidl.” “Lidl would definitely have more customers if they changed that,” jokes another user. But it seems that Lidl is one of the few discounters that puts prices down. “Only Lidl has it on top. “Everyone else is below,” one user wants to know.
