Dengue figures in Argentina registered a sharp jump in the last epidemiological week recorded: there were 52 thousand new cases and another 32 deaths from the disease transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

The data comes from the epidemiological bulletin published this Sunday by the Ministry of Health. According to official data, so far in the 2023/2024 season (from epidemiological week 31 of last year to 13 of 2024, the last recorded) there have been 232,996 cases of dengue, 90% of them indigenous. This marks a sharp jump compared to the last cumulative reported, in week 12, which was 180,529 cases.
