The former Nar Luigi Ciavardini was sentenced by the Court of Bologna to a sentence of 3 years and 7 months for the crime of perjury committed in the context of the first degree trial which led to the sentence of life imprisonment (confirmed on appeal) of the former Nar Gilberto Cavallini , for the massacre of 2 August 1980. For the same accusation, the former exponent of Ordine Nuovo and Avanguardia Nazionale, Vincenzo Vinciguerra, was also sentenced to 1 year.
The Prosecutor's Office had asked for 4 years and 3 months for Ciavardini and 2 years for Vinciguerra.
Ciavardini was definitively convicted of the attack of 2 August 1980, as were Giusva Fioravanti and Francesca Mambro.
