On the first day of the workshop organized by UEFA with the 24 national finalists of Euro 2024, the issue of the number of players in the squad was addressed.

UEFA, having taken note of the selectors' wishes, will then make an overall assessment.
"I think it is fairer to be able to bring 26, as long as we then have the possibility of having 15 on the bench" were Spalletti's words in the mixed zone reserved for the media. A look at Euro 2024 is also inevitable: "As far as our group is concerned, there is still some time left but the work developed is already done, we will not have other windows available - explained the coach - In the March one we left some young players are at home because the Under 21s were busy in the qualifiers: the block of 15-16 from the March friendlies who will be in the squad for the European Championship will be the same, but we will have the opportunity to evaluate in this last phase of the season who will show quality ".
