A Hamas source said the group is studying a proposal for a six-week ceasefire in Gaza.
According to the Hamas source close to the negotiations, the ceasefire agreement in Gaza would see a six-week truce and the release of Israeli women and children hostages in exchange for up to 900 Palestinian prisoners. The first phase of the proposal would also include the return of displaced Palestinian civilians to the northern Gaza Strip and the delivery of 400-500 trucks of food aid per day to the starving population.
