In the midst of the dengue epidemic that is ravaging part of Argentina, this Monday more than
20 thousand units of mosquito repellents
donated by the Mexican government arrived in Ezeiza. However, said cargo will not be for sale: it will be delivered directly to
Cáritas
, which will be in charge of
delivering said products to the beneficiaries
.
The
22,320 aerosols
that arrived this Monday at the Ezeiza International Airport belong to the “Off Family” brand, manufactured by the Johnson & Johnson laboratory and were donated by the Mexican government as a "donation."
Given the very high demand caused in recent weeks and the shortage of repellents in the market, last Thursday, the government of Javier Milei decided to lift obstacles to the importation of mosquito repellents. Restrictions that began this Monday and will be ignored for 30 days.
The measure that was reported through a statement exempts the collection of Value Added Tax (20%) and the withholding of Income Tax (6%). However, there is still a shortage on the market and the repellents have not arrived for now.
Except these, of course. But why can't they go on sale? Because it is a donation. It was an import already announced by the government that will also receive an extra charge under this concept also from Poland.
