Some cut flowers drop their heads faster than expected. You don't want that to happen with your flowers? Then listen and take a closer look.
With a bouquet of tulips you can quickly bring a bit of spring into your home. It's even nicer if the flowers in the vase last as long as possible. Unfortunately, you're not always so lucky when buying flowers - and some specimens begin to wilt after a short time.
How to recognize fresh tulips
You can often find out whether the tulips will last longer in the vase at home or not by doing a test when shopping. If it squeaks quietly when you gently rub the leaves and stems together, the tulips are freshly harvested. The producer association
Tulip Promotion Netherlands
pointed this out, according to a report by the German Press Agency (dpa).
There is another indication: fresh tulips should feel nice and firm and the interfaces on the stems should not be white and dry. You should also make sure that their flower heads are still closed if possible - but are already showing their color, according to another tip according to the report. Otherwise the tulips could often be too unripe.
