A new British TV show called "Weird Britain" is expected to cover the search for King Arthur's sword Excalibur. A team of divers and experts set out to search British lakes for the legendary sword of King Arthur, which was allegedly thrown into the water by the king's assistant after his death. They say they have identified several possible locations for the Excalibur and are trying to track it down.

The team that includes filmmakers, magnet fishermen, technology experts and divers set out on a scandalous journey in an attempt to find the magical sword Excalibur. Underwater camera operators, drone experts and amphibious archaeologists have also joined the hunt for the mythical sword. Producer Tim Whittard said: "There is much debate about the location of the lake where the sword is hidden. The identification of the lake in question is a puzzle that historians and scholars have debated for centuries, namely whether the lake still exists or whether the legend is even true in the first place. This is the first time we had the opportunity to use underwater drones or remotely operated vehicles alongside professional magnet fishermen in this type of expedition."

"I think this is a really innovative and fun application of drone technology that will make for great television." An expert from the group added, "Is this a fairy tale, or is this reality?! We don't really know. But Arthur is in our hearts and minds, in many parts of the country. His sword may be of fancy flight, it may be real."

"In Cornwall it may be found in Dozemery Pool, at the edge of Bodmin Moor, but it may be near Alderley Edge in Cheshire. The sword is a magical thing that we all want to find, just like the Holy Grail," said Nigel Lampford who heads a group called Northants Magnet Fishing, which was called to join the project. Their exploits have earned them notoriety on their YouTube channel, regularly recovering all sorts of metallic materials from waterways. Nigel said: “We haven't been beaten yet and nobody has the amount of equipment we have. If it's there and it's magnetic, it came out."

The story of the sword:

According to the legend, only the ruler worthy of ruling in Britain could pull the Excalibur sword out of the stone - and it was Arthur who, without putting in any effort, was able to pull the sword out and win the kingship.

According to the stories passed down through the years from father to son, until they were written down, Arthur lived around the 6th century and fought against barbarian tribes that invaded Britain. He gathered around him a group of warriors and knights around the round table and was assisted by the wizard Merlin. Camelot Castle, Miss Guinevere, the Crusades and Knight Lancelot are all part of British folklore and are considered a cultural part of immense significance. Historians today think that it is very possible that King Arthur was a real person who did influence the history of Britain, with some seeing Lucius Artorius Castus, a Roman warrior and general, as one of the important sources of the legend.

According to the numbering, after the Battle of Camlann, Arthur ordered his bearer to throw the sword into the lake. A hand reached out of the water and grabbed the sword, and Arthur swam across the lake to the legendary island of Avalon, where he died.

Project manager Matt Everett said: "The legend of King Arthur is amazing. I would love for it to be true and hopefully we can prove it if we find Excalibur." The opening episode of "Weird Britain" aired on April 3 and dealt with the search for the Loch Ness monster.
