“Both the Prince and Princess have been extremely touched by the messages of sympathy sent by people from the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world,” Kensington Palace wrote in a statement released on Sunday March 24. Since the announcement of her cancer, Kate Middleton, who has started chemotherapy, has received multiple letters from fans wishing her a speedy recovery. Missives to which Prince William's wife began to respond.
This is evidenced by a thank you note received by an Internet user on Saturday April 6. The account @AllexmarieHoll1 published on X the letter it received from Kensington Palace. “Thank you for your kind well wishes to Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales,” the document reads. Your thoughtful gesture is much appreciated.” The Internet user had in fact sent Kate Middleton a greeting card during the month of January, after the latter underwent “abdominal surgery”.
A broken tradition
A missive in which Kensington Palace nevertheless deviated from tradition. As the

reminds us
,
it is customary for the palace to send letters accompanied by a photograph. However, the thank you note shared by @AllemarieHoll1 on X was exceptionally devoid of it. For his part, King Charles III, also suffering from cancer, reads “almost all his mail”, according to his official website, and takes a “keen interest” in the messages of support sent by his fans.
