Zendaya continues her fashion and cinema marathon. After the release of
Dune 2
, she is now attending the previews for
Challengers
, the new film by Luca Guadagnino which comes out on April 24. She plays Tashi, a former tennis player turned coach. The story ? A love triangle between her, her husband (Mike Faist, recently noticed in
West Side Story
) and her ex-boyfriend (Josh O'Connor, Prince Charles from
The Crown
). Suffice it to say that this feature film from the director of
Call Me by Your Name
is one of the most anticipated of the year. But if he's already getting noticed, it's also because Zendaya has fun playing
tennis women
on the red carpets in totally unexpected looks created by Jonathan Anderson. Because the artistic director of Loewe (and founder of JW Anderson, his own fashion brand) designs the costumes for the film here.

Thus, on April 8 in Rome, during the premiere of the film, the actress caused a sensation in a pleated microskirt with a sporty sequined tank top with a plunging V-neck combined with astonishing Loewe pumps with yellow ball-shaped heels from tennis. Surrealist shoes reminiscent of those that the designer had already created for the Madrid label on the spring-summer 2022 catwalk where the models literally walked in poetic arty stilettos decorated with soaps, broken eggs or roses.
On March 26, the favorite icon of Gen Z, always on sale, also shone in Australia on the red carpets of Sydney with a sublime Loewe mermaid dress whose glittery green revealed a Chinese shadow pattern of a player brandishing a racket. Jonathan Anderson, who also created outfits for Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist, described his role as costume designer for
Challengers
as "a dream come true."
The Irish designer is not his first collaboration with the Italian filmmaker. In 2023, for Loewe's spring-summer 2024 men's show, he called on his director friend to direct
I Dreamt of Loewe
, a short film presenting the collection. Jonathan Anderson will also design the costumes for
Queer
, the next film inspired by a novel by William S. Burroughs that Luca Guadagnino is preparing to shoot with Daniel Craig in the title role.
