Traditionally, at the end of Ramadan, people wish “Eid Mubarak” on the Sugar Festival. The greeting is used for the Feast of Sacrifice (June 16th to June 20th) or to break the fast. The end of Lent, the festival of breaking the fast, is called “Eid al-Fitr” in Arabic and “Ramazan Bayrami” in Turkish.
The festival of breaking the fast is celebrated at the end of the eighth Islamic month and is based on the lunar calendar. The beginning and highlight is the first day and it starts with the sighting of the first moonlight after the new moon.
