The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, and five ministers will speak on Sunday 14 April at the inauguration of the 56th edition of Vinitaly, the international wine and spirits exhibition, scheduled at Veronafiere until Wednesday 17 April.
Capital for the business of the national wine supply chain, but also a moment for discussion between institutions, companies and associations, Vinitaly returns for the 2024 edition with over 4,000 exhibiting companies in 17 pavilions, equal to 100 thousand net square meters of stands to visit. During the four days of the event, wineries from 30 countries will meet more than 30 thousand demand operators arriving from 160 nations.
In addition to these, B2B appointments are already scheduled with 1,200 top foreign buyers selected and hosted thanks to the joint Veronafiere-Agenzia Ice incoming activity.
All the main thematic areas of the event have been confirmed: Vinitaly Bio; International Wine Hall; Vinitaly Mixology and Micro Mega Wines, with a focus on niche and limited edition productions.
Also held at the same time as Vinitaly are the 28th edition of Sol, the International olive oil trade show, the 25th Enolitech, the international exhibition of technologies for the production of wine, oil and beer, and artisanal breweries, making its "autonomous" debut this year.
The official inauguration is scheduled for 11.00 in the Verdi auditorium of the Palaexpo with Fontana, Antonio Tajani, vice-president of the Council of Ministers and minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Francesco Lollobrigida, minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Foreste, Adolfo Urso, Minister of Business and Made in Italy, and Gennaro Sangiuliano, Minister of Culture. Paolo Zangrillo, Minister for Public Administration, is also expected during the day.
During the inauguration, the "Vinitaly 100 Years Award", "Vinitaly International Italy Award", Vinitaly International Award Abroad" and the "Vinitaly Wine Critics Award" will also be awarded. On the occasion of Made in Italy Day, the Observatory Uiv-Vinitaly-Prometeia in the presence of Minister Lollobrigida will present the investigation "If you take away wine from Italy - a dive into the half-empty glass" which evaluates the impact in socio-economic, cultural, tourist and image terms of a possible disappearance of wine from Italy.
