Of all the things that could be controversial and spark a heated debate - eating a sandwich is not something we thought was included on the list.
And yet, here we are.
It all started when someone posted a picture of a half-eaten sandwich. Not some fancy sandwich like a baguette or ciabatta, just a regular sliced bread sandwich. But what was important was the form in which it was eaten. The viewers were given options - A, B and C.
A was right at the edge, B stood out with a lot of content in it, and C seemed to be mostly the hard part of the bread. The photograph that illustrates one of the common dilemmas when eating a sandwich ignited a heated debate after the question "Where will you take your next bite?" was presented. Many opinions were shared, with some insisting that there is a "right" way and a "wrong" way to eat a sandwich.

The participants in the debate were divided into three camps: those who bite first from the edge, there are those who go straight to the more tempting middle part of the sandwich (laden with the delicious filling) and there are those who prefer to nibble from the corner. While many argue that there is no right or wrong answer, in the end the goal is to eat the whole sandwich - there were others who argued that the next bite you take reveals a lot about who you are as a person. no less.
The photo became the focus of a video recently created by Adam Best and a partner on the Food Porn site, where it has garnered millions of views. "Before we talk about choosing between B and C, we can all agree that A is the wrong answer," he stated. "No sane human being would come across this sandwich and go for an A."
Adam said the correct answer is C because it doesn't empty the center and helps spread the toppings evenly. He said going with B meant a lot of smears on your face.
Of course, TikTokers had strong opinions about what the right answer was, with some claiming that those who went straight for the best bite were "crazy." "Anyone who goes for B is psycho," stated one, "If it's not your sandwich the answer is B. If it's your sandwich then C," added another.
Another commenter stated that his choice would be: "C, then B. The taste should be maximized towards the end". "I'm going for C, not because I want it, but because of the thought of how good B will be after the C bite," added another interesting theory.

While the almost absolute majority decided that the required option here is B, because that's where the delicious filling is, but a surfer named @soogia1 takes a very different view. In a video she posted on Tiktok and gained no less than 6 million views, she said: "Please tell me that no one said B is the next bite. It can't be. If B is your next bite, then you have nowhere to go but Malkroom dry bread. No, no, no, we have to plan ahead. We have to plan our bites strategically."
