After 20 years of living together and 14 years of marriage, Tatiana Blatnik and Nikolaos from Greece have decided to end their union. This Friday, April 19, the princely couple published a press release to announce their decision. “We wanted to inform you of a sincere decision of His Royal Highness Prince Nikolaos (54 years old) and Princess Tatiana (43 years old) to break off their union, on a friendly agreement,” we can read in the missive available on the official website of the royal family.
And to continue: “A decision taken with a lot of mutual respect for each other, as they continue to remember their love and the moments they shared (...) Their future interactions will be guided in this way through these same principles of respect and understanding, as they move from a loving relationship to a strong friendship. They will continue to live and evolve in Greece, a place dear to them. The royal family will support them forever.”
Love at first sight when skiing
The son of King Constantine II and Queen Anne-Marie met the Venezuelan model in 2003 during a ski trip in Switzerland. At the time, he was 33 years old, compared to 22 for her. Seven years later, in 2010, they married on the island of Spetses, off the coast of Piraeus, Greece. Their last public appearance dates back to the funeral of King Constantine II, father of Prince Nikolaos, who died on January 10, 2023. That day, however, they appeared very united. Always remaining discreet about their private life, the couple never had children.
