JK Rowling's stories, especially those about Harry Potter's student wizard, continue to enjoy great popularity despite controversial opinions about the author. Both the books and the eight film parts became worldwide hits. The announcement of a “Harry Potter” series also caused a lot of excitement among fans. But now the British best-selling author has announced that “The Christmas Pig” will be made into a film.

reported on the planned film adaptation of another children's book by Rowling. However, it is not a Hogwarts story. Instead, an adaptation of Rowling's 2021 bestseller "The Christmas Pig" is in early production.
What to do if your very best friend suddenly disappears? Jack and his beloved cuddly toy Swein are inseparable. But one day something terrible happens and Swein goes missing. To win him back, Jack must go to the Land of the Lost - a magical place full of surprises and strange creatures. There he has to face many dangers and in the end is faced with the biggest decision of his life - after all, it's about his best friend!

The plot of “The Christmas Pig” is set to be brought to the big screen. It tells the story of Jack, a boy who loses his beloved toy, a pig named Swein, at Christmas. Even though Jack receives a replacement pig, he cannot forget his old friend. To cheer Jack up, his new cuddly toy goes on a rescue mission with him, during which they even meet Santa Claus himself.
It was only announced in February that a reboot of the “Harry Potter” story is expected to be released in 2026, this time as a series on the streaming service Max. Not much is known about the project yet, but according to “Variety”, seven seasons are planned, one for every book in Rowling's series. It was also rumored whether there would be another “Harry Potter” volume.
In recent years, however, the author has made a name for herself less through her work, which is loved by millions of people, and more through statements that have been criticized by many as transphobic. In response, even actors from the “Harry Potter” films distanced themselves from her, including lead actor Daniel Radcliffe. A first edition of “Harry Potter – The Sorcerer’s Stone” was auctioned for several thousand euros.

The famous Harry Potter novels are the work of JK Rowling. It sold over 600 million copies, was translated into more than 80 languages and inspired eight successful films. Rowling wrote three additional books in the series to promote charitable causes. One of them, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” formed the basis for the film series about the magizoologist Newt Scamander. Harry's story continued in the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child." Rowling developed this together with screenwriter Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany.
Rowling has received numerous awards for her literary work, including for her crime series published under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith (“The Flowing Grave”). She is involved in many humanitarian projects through her Volant foundation and founded the international children's aid organization Lumos. Rowling lives with her family in Scotland.
